Student pilot certificate
Learning to fly is one of the most rewarding things you can do. It takes work, time and money, and it starts with a student pilot certificate.
To be eligible you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age, or 14 for a glider or balloon.
- Be able to read, speak, write and understand English. If a medical reason prevents one of these, the FAA may place an operating limitation on the certificate.
- Complete the student pilot application in IACRA.
- Request an appointment below. We can meet in person or by video; either way, have your government-issued photo ID with you.
- I verify your identity and submit the application. The FAA mails your plastic certificate, usually in about three weeks.
