Questions and answers

Which checkrides do you give?

Recreational, private, instrument and commercial certificates and ratings in airplanes (single-engine land) and helicopters, plus flight instructor and instrument instructor helicopter ratings for current flight instructors adding them.

Where are checkrides held?

At airports in the Phoenix area, at your flight school or the airport you train at. Tell me the airport when you request a date.

What do I need before I book?

A passed knowledge test within the last 24 calendar months, the training and experience for the certificate, a medical certificate (or BasicMed where allowed), and your instructor's endorsements, including one for the areas you missed on the knowledge test.

What happens if the weather is bad?

I check the forecast for the test hours ahead of time. If the weather will not allow a safe test, we reschedule.

What if I do not pass?

You receive a notice of disapproval that lists the tasks to retest. After additional training and a new endorsement, you can retest; the tasks you passed keep their credit for 60 days.
